Subject: ViPrs, Season Kickoff 1/4 & 1/5 (weather update)

Dear ViPrs and ViPrs Parents,

 

Come watch the FIRST® Robotics Competition 2025 Season Kickoff Celebration and the Game Reveal of “REEFSCAPE” with the whole team on Saturday, January 4th, when gameplay and rules for this year’s competition will be streamed around the world for the first time!

NOTE: We understand that there might be inclement weather this weekend, so please stay tuned and we’ll provide any meeting changes or updates as they come along. If you are at all concerned about your travels please use your best judgement and let us know. 

 

Kickoff Details

 

Our season kickoff will take place in the Saint Louis Priory School Arts and Sciences Center (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qys48e4ogbBgTfH87) Saturday 1/4 and Sunday 1/5. We expect the entire team to attend these two kickoff events - parents and other interested students are welcome to attend as well:

 

  • Saturday, January 4th: 10 AM - 4 PM

  • Sunday, January 5th: 12 PM - 4 PM

 

Lunch will only be provided during the Saturday kickoff meeting, snacks will be provided on Sunday. If you have any questions or scheduling changes please reach out to Mr. Ward (dward@priory.org), Mrs. Marino (smarino@visitationacademy.org) or Dr. Arnett (sarnett@priory.org). 

 

Work Session Details

 

Your regularly scheduled work sessions will begin Monday, January 6th (schedule to be sent out later). If you have not yet signed up please research out to the above mentors.

 

Leadership Roles Still Open

 

We are still looking for Student Leaders for the following positions: Programming, Fundraising,, and Safety Captain.

 

If you are interested in stepping into a leadership role, please submit your applications to Mr. Ward. The application criteria is a 500 word or more essay discussing why you would be the best pick for the position, as well as attending all meeting sessions, including both team leadership meetings, club meetings, and all sessions starting with Kickoff. Leadership roles are essential for the success of our team, and we encourage everyone to consider applying. As a quick reference, here is our current leadership team:
